I need a visual stock control system, does anyone use one?

My stash is too big to remember what's in it

All new stuff will be photographed with where it's from, how much it was and if I have any plans for it

I have set aside some time to go through what I have discarding the unusable and photographing what I keep and adding as many details as I remember

But where/how do I store it - ideally on my phone but I can't type details easily and I need to sort it by type or price or age etc

Anyone got anything good that works?

There are a lot of free inventory apps. You need something like that. Do you sell second hand stuff?

I make clothes from vihtage and preloved household fabrics- curtains bedding and tablecloths plus any fabric I can get second hand fronvfacebook/ebay/charity shops or that people give me

I also collect tapestry/embroidered pictures to sew on the back of jackets and the jackets they go on

Then people give me clothes to upcycle (this might be the largest area where I can pass clothes on but often they are vintage so it's hard)

And there is so much! 2 years collecting!! Sobadding where it's stored could save me hours looking for that specific bit I need right now!

Something where you can tag photos seems like it would suit you. Then when searching for something you could look for things tagged pink, floral and linen for eg

Oo I like thatvidea a lot @Duvetflower

That works well with Pinterst and I can keep some boards private

But I only seem to be able to add one photo at a time which I annoying

Personally I would use Ravelry stash and adapt it for your needs . How it works for wool is you record and photo your stash individually, recording amounts and type. There is a notes section too which would probably be useful.
I really wish there was an equivalent to Ravelry for the sewing world. I love it for all my yarn projects and can see how useful a sewing one would be.

Oo that's interesting; I'll get them to have a look at that too
