Acrylic paint pouring artwork

I've seen some interesting artwork created using various techniques for basically "pouring" acrylic paint onto craft shop style canvases and fancy having a go. Can anyone tell me how long they take to dry? The paint seems very thickly spread (sometimes mixed with clear resin) - are we talking hors / days / weeks?

Days.

This technique is easy to do badly! There are, as you know, thousands of YouTube tutorials and FB pages.

It's really good fun but you need space, and it's messy.

But thick paint needs slow time to dry!

OK days it is then, thank you Miljea. I'm going to give it a try (maybe just the once) to use up the excess paint I have amongst my hoard of other art materials!

In my experience (I paint and have sold this style of artwork), they can take a couple of days to fully dry.

I wouldn't mix the paint with resin. You can apply resin to a finished piece afterwards though.

The paint doesn't need to be applied to the canvas in a hugely thick layer. The paint and pouring medium shouldn't really be that thick to be honest, you need it to move when tilted etc.

It's great fun but I would suggest that you cover your work area with plastic sheeting and have plenty of wipes/kitchen paper etc to hand!

Excellent advice, thank you YouAintKingDingALing.
