Which Overlocker for my needs?

I’ve decided to sew more often and would like to get a basic overlocker. Looking at the prices that’s all I can afford, so it looks as though I will be threading it myself.
There are two I am considering, a basic Brother and a basic Janome. The Janome matches a popular Overlocker book available on Amazon so I am leaning towards that, however the Brother has a free arm, which is apparently useful.
Do I need that aspect? Or would it be better to try and get the one which matches the book as I am not the most intuitive of sewists?
Thanks!

Sorry, should have said, I plan to make t shirts, pjs, simple skirts and tops...

What's your budget? I have the brother 3034d which I got for around £250 six months ago and find it pretty straightforward.
I have re-threaded it a few times now and don't find it an issue as long as I follow all the steps in the manual way time.
If you have a really small budget a lot of people sing the praises of the Lidl / Aldi overlockers too

Oh that’s a thought, my budget is really as small as possible.

But the two I am considering are around £270-290, which is more than I wanted to pay but I didn’t realise they were going to cost twice what my John Lewis sewing machine cost!

I am more or less decided on the Janome 9300DX but am keeping an eye on EBay and will also check Aldi/Lidl.

Yours is the next step up from the Brother I was considering.

I've got the basic brother overlocker (I think it was £220 or £250) and it's excellent. It gets used almost daily, I've had it for about 8 months now and find it easy to use, it's nice and quick and rethreading it isn't too painful. I looked at the Janome as well but I spoke to a lot of people and shops when doing research and the brother was the one that was consistently recommended to me.

I also have the 3034d and it's brilliant. I threaded and rethreaded as soon as I got it home and once you've done it a few times it's no different to your sewing machine (in terms of ease). No experience of the Janome sorry.

I have two Janome overlockers. One is the 9200D. I've had it six years and it's a workhorse. It has been absolutely hammered for business use and still goes. It has had an annual service and I cleaned and oiled it regularly. An absolute doddle to thread. I only bought a new one as I needed something sturdier and faster.

So either sound like a good option. Thank you all!

Update, have gone for a Brother and very glad it came threaded. Had a go last night and managed to do a test piece without anything exploding!

Have found some really useful YouTube content with handy tips about all the settings.
