Hey.

So I've decided to make hats and sell them as maternity is pants.

Handmade chunky yarn crotchet

How much would you pay?

I'm based Doncaster Uk

Was thinking £14.99 or 2 for £25

£8.99 max. Nice though.

MrsHugsxx · 19/12/2020 21:46

Not something I would wear as I don't wear hats but I think they are cute. I think £10 maximum.

Thumbcat · 19/12/2020 21:48

I'd be tempted but wouldn't pay more than £10

Alexkate2468 · 19/12/2020 21:49

I wouldn’t pay more than£10.

PandemicPalava · 19/12/2020 21:51

Unfortunately nobody values time. Unless you can make this up in half an hour it doesn't pay for £10

peachypetite · 19/12/2020 21:52

There are loads on Etsy much cheaper than what you’re proposing.

Chinainmyhandsoitis · 19/12/2020 21:52

£8/£9, possibly £10. I think they are lovely but wouldn't buy a woolly hat for £15.

user1491404899 · 19/12/2020 21:52

Probably a fiver tbh

AaronPurr · 19/12/2020 21:54

£8 - £10

chickensoup23 · 19/12/2020 21:54

I wouldn't wear a hat with ears if you paid me... sorry!

Bridecilla · 19/12/2020 21:55

£9. I crochet too and unless it's a high quality yarn you'll not get much more than that

PurpleishDahlia · 19/12/2020 21:57

OP I would gladly pay £15 or even more for a warm handmade hat made with a soft yarn.
I am fed up with cheap things from China and Amazon.

Whereland · 19/12/2020 22:00

I thought you said sell them as maternity pants and I was very very confused

Pipandmum · 19/12/2020 22:02

£10. But only for my daughter and only if in a brighter colour.

Bemystarlord · 19/12/2020 22:03

I’d pay £8-£10.

purplerainox · 19/12/2020 22:03

I thought you meant children's hats. I'd say no more than £9.99

rottiemum88 · 19/12/2020 22:04

I'd happily pay £15 for one. Not massively keen on the ears, but could get over it.

HedgieHog · 19/12/2020 22:05

£5-£8, max £10

Mrgrinch · 19/12/2020 22:05

People can pick up plain hats very cheaply. Might I suggest you consider some more design ideas? If you're making something unique people would pay more.

HedgieHog · 19/12/2020 22:06

I do like the ears though, actually gave something similar in a smaller knit

Xerochrysum · 19/12/2020 22:06

Cute for kids, so would buy it for dc. So smaller/less material, £5 max.

LoungeLizardLhama · 19/12/2020 22:06

I’d pay £15 for a good quality hand made hat no problem. Unfortunately I don’t think many other people value hand made/local made though.

inappropriateraspberry · 19/12/2020 22:10

It depends on the type of yarn used. Unfortunately as others have said, people won't pay for your time when you can get a mass produced hat in Primark for £3.
I'd value your hat around £8-£10, but you'd probably sell better/more at a proper craft market which aren't around at the mo!

ThatLibraryMiss · 19/12/2020 22:14

Those are crocheted not knitted?

Lightsontbut · 19/12/2020 22:26

A lot less than you're suggesting though if you put thinsulate in as a lining (not even sure if that's possible) then a lot more. Knitted hats are just not warm enough IMHO.
