My GF and I are running a stall at our schools fair, it is the 'Christams decorations' stall although that is a little misleading.

Last years we made enormous amarylis and twisted willow flower arrangements (sold out 12 in about an hour and stopped taking orders after 16 more!)these made a profit of £10 per pot.

Our other major success was 'Swedish advent candles' aged terracotta pots (pulled off a skip by me) filled with expanded poly/dry oasis a nice pillar candle and topped with moss - these sold for £5 a pot (posh school, local florist now sells same for £7.50)£4 of which being profit.

We also had some red gingham table runners, hearts etc wooden heart garlands, decorated silver coloured napkin rings etc there were a few glitzy bits (not made by me as I am very much a scandinavian/shaker style person but am happy to have a go at anything) but these really didn't sell so well.

We are not going to do the big pots this year as they were time consuming and difficult to transport. I have just bought a big box of the small old pots at an auction, so will be doing candles again.

Last year was our first year and we nearly doubled the profit of stall from the previous year - so people have got their hopes up for another bumper year - the problem being, I haven't had many new creative ideas for this year!!! HELP!!!

What about packets of biscuits to hang on the tree.

yes liz, we are buying the IKEA packs of hearts and just popping them in nice paper bags with handles and ribbon and a tube of icing, kits for kids type thing. So you are on our wave length.

br, tank you very much, had a quick look will have a long read later am going to 2 different childrens parties now (a 3yr ols followed by an 8yr old) so no peace for the wicked.

M, thank you I appreciate any suggestions made!

Just to add my DH (as a businessman) was very interested in my profit margins and thinks stuff the PTA funds I should have my own stall!
