Has anyone made them and what material have you used?

Have lots of shirts and t shirts to use. Practised making one with a old shirt and worked well. Just not sure about a filter layer.
I was also thinking of using canvas, seen lots on ebay but wondering if 8mm is too thick for masks????

I've made my own and read quite a few opinions on how best to make them. I've made mine from quilters cotton as the weave is very close. I think canvas might be too thick and you might struggle to breath.

100% cotton is supposedly the best. I’ve made a few variations but not worn any yet. Fogging up of glasses is a bit of an issue so far and I don’t want to wear my contacts for too long.

8mm is too thick for masks. I've used quilted cotton and other cotton pieces I've had including shirting.

If you leave room for wire - garden plastic covered wire is good, then if it's fitted more to the nose, your glasses won't steam up as much

My mum made me one from an old pillow case, t shirt material is meant to be too stretchy.

Canvas would be very hot and heavy. Quilting cotton, an old shirt, cotton pillowcases etc would be better. Cotton jersey, t-shirt fabric etc would be a bit of a hassle for me to sew on my sewing machine even with a jersey needle - I don't have a stretch stitch setting.

I'm using cotton fat quarters and old duvet covers.

I've used fat quarters and unwanted duvet covers.
