Cross stitch help - poor eyesight

Help! I last did cross stitch 30 years ago and didn’t realise how my eyesight has deteriorated. I stupidly bought a lovely 25 count kit and after a week realise at this rate it will take me 4.5 years to complete if I don’t take a single day off!

Does anyone know if 14 count would make a noticeable difference? Would I be able to do it without surgical grade magnifiers?

Thanks!

25 count is tiny stitches, 14 count will be bigger stitches, however the picture will be larger so you will need to think about that when ordering more Aida.
It will be easier on 14 than 25

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. I didn’t have to think about these things last time I did cross stitch so it never crossed my mind it would be an issue. This is such a helpful board, I’m sure I’ll be back for more advice!

How about getting a magnifying thing to use. Ive got a magnifying lamp that I use when my eyes are tired. I think you can also get ones that hang around your neck

I have emailed the supplier asking if they can change to 14 point. I will also look for a magnifier. Any recommendations? Thanks so much.
