... we were asked what we would preffer to do, so I opted for having a personal project while the rest of the class wanted to learn "techniques". Teacher was not bothered about me taking a project without a background and seem to welcome the idea of people doing in the class what better suit them. BUT there was so much fuss about technique that I have already started to wondr whether there are some dark arts associated with the subject that i'm not aware of and probably I'm jumping into the unknow with catastrophic consequences???

I just want to sewn (sp) together a few squares, probably by hand, have I decided for an imposible task?

Oh, and I also wanted to ask.... why everybody is so secretive with regards to time spent working in a quilt?

I decided a while back to get some books out of the library and have a go at quilting, never thought of a class. Couple of months on I still haven't got the books but reding your message has reignited my enthusiasm!

I have found a fantastic book about japanese blocks! The patterns look very contemporary and aparently relatively easy to do (just rectangles).

I love the quilts with repetition of the same pattern but I would like to add some personal touches to it (in terms of thoughts, events, etc). I can't wait to start
