Sealing ends of organza ribbon?

I would like to incorporate bits of organza ribbon into some necklaces I am making for Christmas presents. I've seen finished pieces in shops and the edges / ends of the ribbon look as if they've been somehow heat sealed. Does anyone know how this is done - or alternative suggestions? I can't really hem the ribbon, it would look too clunky.

Thanks.

For my cardmaking I tend to run a very fine line of PVA glue over the edge but I know some crafters actually burn the ends! Hold on- I will check if it works with organza or what other jewelery makers do!

I use glossy accents on the end of ribbon to stop it fraying. I guess a thin layer of pva would do the same too.

Thanks a mill - do you just do the pva with a very tiny brush? I am worried that anything like that is going to be obvious on a necklace - also doesn't the pva make it droop - with the weight of glue I mean? I haven't used glossy accents but I've just looked it up on the web, looks good.

I apply my PVA with one of those very fine tip, metal applicators- haven't tried my glossy accents before so I cannot compare.
