Hama Beads - how do I "stick" them together

I assume with an iron, how long & what temperature. do I have to use any particular paper etc etc etc

There should be an ironing sheet with the set, kind of looks like greaseproof paper. Iron on low temp {iirc}

Dd's set just says "cover the design with ironing paper and fuse beads with a household iron" - so not much help there really! I haven't fused dd's yet (she's not quite finished it) but I'm assuming it would be on a high temperature without steam.

The ironing paper came with the beads - it looks like baking parchment.

yes got the paper, what do use when it runs out????? An idea how long?

High temp, no steam, just run the iron over it and press down heavily for a minute or so. The beads should fuse together and then you can peel the paper off.

Toys R Us sell spare paper.

You can get special "ironing paper" which is like greaseproof paper.

Ironing is a bit trial and error! If you leave the iron on too long you can end up with a melted board (voice of experience!) I tend to iron until they are joined (prob a min) then take off the board then iron again to really fuse them so the back no longer shows the individual circles.

Once the design is completed you need to get your grown up helper to place the ironing paper on top of your design & run the hot iron over it until the beads begin to melt into one another thus sticking together & forming a permenant picture. You need to be careful during this that you don't accidently dislodge any of the beads.This takes about 1 minute. Leave it to cool down for a minute or so & then gently prize the design off the peg board. On the finished design one side will look melted & the other side just looks like it did before you ironed it. The peg board & the ironing paper can be used again & again.

does it matter which side of the paper you use????

I always use greaseproof paper and put the iron on hot temp with no steam. I iron both sides too as then the children's 'creations' don't fall apart as easily!

I use baking parchment. The iron usually on hot, and you need to be careful not to overdo it because I've melted a Hama tray or two in my time

Yup just use greaseproof. I used foil the other day too! Iron em and kerp lifting the paper. You'll see when they're stuck. Then i take em off the peg board and iron the other side a bit. They're quite tough. It's hard to go wrong. Can i recommend a great craft we did with em? We love mario so got images of the old bit style mario that was really blocky and copied him with hama beads. Looked ace! We hung em on our xmas tree. Iron good though or bits fall off.
