have never tried it myself but will check this thread too as our house is a late 60's build with glass panels above the door frames on the landing. we don't want to get rid of them as there is no window and they are the source of natural light but i thought frosting them or etching then would make them look nicer.

i was planning to use masking film to create a pattern, you can get them with patterns already scored, and etch spray, but like i said, have not tried it yet.

If you decide to etch, don't use a template, use masking tape. Templates leave a dodgy line unless you are an 'etchasketch' iykwim.

There is a company called flume.co.uk I think who will cut you a shape of stuff if you don't want to try it. I have sucessfully sprayed a piece of glass before now, but farked it up by not using masking tape. HTH.

to be honest two of the doors I would just like to etch completely with maybe some squares left in the other door to use as mirrors.

Instead of masking how about that spray on glue?
