I've seen an image online of a finished item - no pattern listed - and would appreciate if anyone can identify the knitting stich used on the upper part. It looks like they've used two stands of yarn for the booties, and possibly some type of twisted stitch on the upper part. Do you recognise it? Thanks.

The top part is ribbing. OP.

Knit 1, Purl 1 for the whole row then Purl 1, Knit 1 for the next row.

Repeat until it's the length you want.

It's the same as the cuffs on a jumper/cardigan (and the neck.)

The upper foot, not the rib! That made me laugh!

It looks to me as if it is just seed stitch (moss stitch).

Knit 1, Purl 1 for row, then for next row knit in the purl stitches of the previous row and purl in the knit stitches of the previous row.

I would say moss stitch as well

Jemima232 · 17/07/2019 13:03

Ohhhhh.

Yes - moss stitch.

Agree moss stitch. knit one purl one then the opposite on the nest row. It's a lovely finish, quite slow to do though as you're always moving the yarn forward or back.
