I will finish the DNA scarf today!

I keep my knitting for DH's chemo days.

The irony of knitting a DNA molecule in a cancer unit amuses me.

But today I finish the last section.

So what do I do next girls? I have to keep impressing the old folks in the unit, they think that it is 'wonderful' to see a young girl (ahem!) knitting.

i remember the thread when you were discussing the DNA patterns (i took fright and ran, my knitting skills are not up to standard)- will you post a picture when it is finished?

sounds fabulous! i remember looking at the pattern.

what's next? why not try something in lots of different colours?

Tamum · 19/06/2007 14:15

Oh well done! What kind of thing do you fancy doing next? Give us some clues and I'll try my best

Blandmum · 19/06/2007 14:31

thought it would only be a matter of time until you turned up Tamum!

OK I have 3 50g balls a a fabbo Moro wook.silk/ kid mohair wook. i only got 3 as they were 5.90 each!

I was thinking of doing a boxy cardigan/jacket in a black bacground using this stuff for some coloured detail IYSWIM. For me I think, as dd will grow out of it too quickly!

Any patterns would be great!

noro, not moro!

Oh, that sounds nice. I love Noro, I am making dd a zipped up hooded jacket in Noro Blossom at the moment. Hmm, maybe not boxy enough? . This is not remotely boxy but is a plain colour using Koigu as coloured accent. There are some really nice Noro pattern books, let me find some links- you could use your black yarn for most of them and just do the edges in Noro or something?

Blandmum · 19/06/2007 14:43

That is what I was thing of, I like the second one very much. Do you think if would work in a boucle (sp? for the background?) and would the Noro be ok of the edges?

I bought the wool on a whim when we were in Dorchester, where there is an excellent wool shop. Bought the wool with nothing to knot! Daft, But I couldn't resist

I am going to do the second one next too, once I've undone the cardigan I just finished and decided I didn't like, sigh. I think it would be lovely in boucle, you would just need to muck about with the gauge a bit, especially to get that kind of drapey look. There's a link to Noro books here that's really good, you get pictures of the garments by clicking on the cover. I do have one or two of them I could (ahem) I could lend you if you see anything Especially if you tell me where the wool shop in Dorchester is...

Thought that would interest you!

It is right next to the Tutankhamun exhibition (exhibition crap btw)

I don't like 'plain' stocking stitch much ITSWIM. I like a bit of texture.

Oooh right, thanks! They used to do Rowan, at least, in the department store there (Goulds or something?) but didn't have that or their lovely toy department last summer. I am secretly plotting to get dh to drive us to GetKnitted too....
