It's winter here, we are getting day time temperatures of, oooh let's see, 15 degrees! And my youngest Fragrant Boy needs something warm and he detests long sleeves.

So ... can you help me find a pattern for this please ?

I've found this? It's in adult sizes, though.

Pruuni · 06/06/2007 10:55

Marina is your gal
I think she knitted something like that for a MNer's son
15 degrees in winter? Pah. It's about 12 degrees here in Scotland in fucking summer

rantinghousewife · 06/06/2007 11:01

Think I may have a similiar pattern somewhere, give me an hour or so, gotta pick up from nursery and I'll get back to you.

rantinghousewife · 06/06/2007 12:04

This is nearest I can find. Does it have to have a diamond pattern?

rantinghousewife · 06/06/2007 12:05

Opps this is the link here

suzywong · 06/06/2007 12:32

yes, that's the stuff!
We have the right pattern from NQC and the right size from rantinghousewife - thank you

Any offers on a combination of the two elements?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 06/06/2007 12:49

It wouldn't be that hard to combine them yourself, I would think? I mean, you just take some graph paper, plot out the front of the vest, and draw some diagonal lines, surely?

suzywong · 06/06/2007 13:17

...she says with a casual waft of her set square ..... NQC you are clearly far sharper and more crafty than I

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 06/06/2007 16:31

I don't think I'm particularly crafty, but surely with some graph paper you could apply an argyle pattern to a plain vest?

I guess this sort of thing is why I find writing patterns mindbogglingly tiresome - I don't see why anyone would want a pattern.

Pruuni · 06/06/2007 18:07

Ah, that analytical brain, NQC.
SW if you want to know stuff like how many stitches to use with a certain size wool to make a tank-top, then get Marina to give you the stitch count for her pattern (which I now recall was fair isle) then divide up the diamonds and work it out that way.

rantinghousewife · 06/06/2007 19:25

Thought I might find something similiar in my ancient pattern stash, just seem to have a lot of ribbed boys cardies!!I'll have a look on the pattern ring pages.
