KNITTERS - I need your HELP (please)...

I started knitting a tank top for my ds a YEAR ago. It is the first thing I have ever knitted (knat? ) and I'm still not finished. He is about to grow out of it though! I guess I'm about 3/4 finished...so....

Is there a wonderful MNer out there who loves knitting and would finish it for me? I will be eternally grateful (I must see DS in it or I will never knit again, as it will be so discouraging ). I really would appreciate it so much.

It has obviously taken me a long time, but I suspect its not really too hard, for someone more skilled than myself!

TNH hun dont think it will work. If your tension is different to someone elses the stitches will look odd.

If I wasn't such a darned slow knitter myself would do it happily. I still have the start of a jumper I was making for dd1 when she was 3 - she is now 10. It has missed ds1 and ds2 - will I finish it before dd2 gets to that size?

I'm doomed then...

How old is your ds? If only little a quick knitter could undo it all and knit it back up...but it wouldn't be your own work. Otherwise it would be difficult for someone else to finish it, although you could try different knitting pins ie if your knitting was tighter than mine I could use a thinner pin, or a thicker one if your knitting was a lot loser ifyswim
I wouldn't mind having a go...

sorry, been away this weekend.

DS is 15 months, its a little tank top, so no sleeves. I hadn't really thought about the tension thing - my Mum did a few rows for me and it seemed ok, but maybe knitting tension runs in families! I don't think I could bear it if it was unravelled and started again...all those hours work!

Soooo, if you'd like to do it, do, but please don't feel preassured! Only for someone who loves kntting and is fast, because you wont even get the satisfaction of your your child wearing it - its a big ask I know!

If you send it with the pattern and an indication of the pins you needn't send the actual needles. I'm not quite sure how you go about sending the address, but you can CAT me. Never done this before.

Astrophe · 22/05/2007 14:39

ooh, you are so nice! Are you sure? I don't have CAT - you could email me at katisrael at gmail dot com if you are sure you are happy to do this!
