What is good / bad about it and would you buy it again?

I have a Juki. I love it. It’s heavy so doesn’t bounce around the table and it’s industrial roots make it a workhorse. Pain in the arse to thread but lots of them are.

I have a Juki too. The model used on the last series of Great British Sewing Bee. It's harder to thread than a sewing machine but if you take your time and follow the instructions it is fine. The shop I bought from were very patient in showing me how to thread and then me doing it with their help. I love using mine and it finishes things brilliantly.

I brought this janome overlocker a couple of months ago and am ready happy with my purchase.

It's nice and simple to use which is a great for a beginner sewist like myself. Good speed and alterations and not too heavy to move around. Also came with an instructional dvd which has been a heaven send at times lol.

I have a babylock which came from my mum when she upgraded. It has air threading which makes it significantly easier to thread, and is a real workhorse. I am had it serviced recently and was looking at newer models, but the chap in the shop was aghast I was even considering a new machine! I still don't use its full potential though. I sew a lot of knits so I really should move on from just finishing seams.

I have a janome. I can’t remember the number but it starts SMD as inought it from Sewing machines direct.
I was so scared of threading it but the two needle threads are just like a sewing machine so no bother. The loopers I usually cut, knot and pull through when I need to change colour. If I do have to rethread, it’s not a big deal as long as I have the big tweezers that came with it. I can’t remember the last time I had to do that though.
I mostly sew with knit fabric so my overlocker is the love of my life. Quick things for my children are soooo quick. Learn how to do a faux flatlock and you can hem on it too so even quicker!

@moggle That's what I really need to learn. The instruction book is quite basic, and I'm not especially good at curves and corners but I don't really have any excuse not to improve myself.
