Anyone doing or going to do anything Christmassy this year? I'm ok at knitting and crochet and can't decide what to do. Any inspiration? (sorry for using the C word but some projects take months!)

I want to make both my DDs a Christmas patchwork bedcover! I live in Oz (recent immigrant) and there are NO lovely Christmas duvet covers like in England so I thought I'd make them lovely, festive bed covers.

I'm not a quilter...have done a pillowcase...but don't want to try to quilt a whole eiderdown so will make a basic patchwork top...and use some thin cotton batting in the middle layer with cotton underside.

I am looking out for nice fabrics!

That's lovely. Dp thinks Christmas bedding is silly. Dp is wrong Grin

I already knitted some Christmas tree ornaments using this Ravelry pattern from some leftover glittery/sequinned yarn, they looked so nice that I'm planning to make some more this year. The pattern's in Italian but it was easy enough to work out, with a little help from Google Translate!

Itchy I used to think it was silly too but it's cheap enough to buy and I used to use the ones we had for about 2 weeks up to Christmas. Then put it away!

When we moved I assumed I could buy more here...I was wrong! Shock

Still...nice patchwork covers will last for years.

I'm definitely buying some Christmas bedding for 3yo dd. I love the idea of knitted/crocheted ornaments.

Knit little Santa hats to use on egg cups to keep eggs warm. This kind of thing:

Find patterns to make something similar:

These bottle toppers are so cute but I can't see a pattern (just on Pinterest):

Look at craftshapes.co.uk. They sell a wide range of wooden blanks which you can decorate any way you like. If you want to make them to hang anywhere they will put holes in them for you. Great for kids too.

....and no, this isn't an ad! I use them a lot in my work that's all.

I do some beading and have made some beaded baubles for the tree... the pic is last year's effort...
Just getting one underway now - it will take about 12 hours, but can only do 40 min at a time as it gets your eyes after a while!
I do a Bucilla felt kit each year - have done a tree skirt and a stocking.

I'm making all the children a small sewn stocking with a couple of gifts and a crochet Christmas ornament, so about 20 to make.

I'm also doing a few scarves and blankets for family too.

Last year I made a Christmas table runner, advent calender, bunting, stockings and a rag wreath Smile this year I am making Christmas cushion covers, a Christmas quilt and a skirt for the Christmas tree Grin
