I swear to god martha, it was eiter the biggest dog turd of all time, or a small pony. I skidded up the road in it, and then fell in it! It was all over me, in my shoe, up my leg, all over my trousers. A guy ran up to pick me up and see if I was OK, he was so stunned by the smell, he dropped me back in the shit!

yes dh is scientist and he looks exactly like Beaker.
I am one lucky lady

If the white coat is causing a major problem how about a 'stereotypical' prefessor.

Tweed trousers, mucky brown/green shirt and wooly tank top?

Troutpout · 06/03/2007 20:41

pmsl mb!

Blandmum · 06/03/2007 20:42

This was about 17-18 years ago and I still bear the scars

DrMarthaMcMoo · 06/03/2007 20:44

I remember standing in dog poo as a child, while wearing sandals and no socks - it all squidged over the top and between my toes. Maybe that's why I don't like dogs to this very day...

SlightlyMadScientist · 06/03/2007 20:45

Can we please stop talking about dog poo DP has just gone to get me tea...

Tell him to go to school in his jeans and T-shirt - and take this quote with him:

Scientists wear all sorts of clothes, depending on what their jobs are. Someone who studies dolphins might wear a wet suit. Someone who studies rocks on mountains might wear jeans and hiking boots. Some wear things to keep them safe, like a lab coat and goggles if they are working with chemicals in a lab. Most wear normal clothes and you would not be able to tell them apart from teachers, accountants, lawyers, or most other occupations.

I have got a white shirt off my dad that is perfect as a lab coat. Have got some safety glasses with a cord so DS can have them round his neck and a plastic magnifying glass. Any suggestions as to what I can write on the lab coat... if anything should be written on the lab coat.

You tend to to have anything written on a lab coat, but you might have a name badge

SlightlyMadScientist · 07/03/2007 20:39

No you don't need anything written on the labcoat.

bigknickersbigknockers · 07/03/2007 20:44

Thanks everyone, you have been a great help
