Dressing up - what do yours like to be?

My 5 years old loves to be a pretty princess. Be it a Disney store dress or just a very very pretty girly dress. Lately it's been a Chinese cheongsam with a gorgeous parasol. We're fortunate to live in HK where we can buy this stuff but friends of mine tell me it's difficult to get hold of "back home"
If you let me know what yours like, then you might see me surfacing in eBay quite soon...

Dh likes to be a stable boy but I like him to be Santa - oh sorry youre talking about your children

OuiOui · 27/02/2007 14:09

tee hee. I was thinking of the children only but is there something else I should consider selling instead?

Princess, fairy, butterfly, fireman, nurse, doctor. She would also kill for a dog costume, but the only one I've seen costs an arm and a leg!

Hi Smithagain
what constitutes an arm and a leg?

Everyone - most stuff I've seen is around the 15GBP price mark.

This is the one she wants: www.letterbox.co.uk/Childrens_Fancy_Dress_cat240/DASHING_DALMATIAN_code_6310.html

So £23 for her size. Which I guess wouldn't actually bankrupt us, but I don't think it would get £23 worth of use after the novelty value wore off. Also, we haven't bought a lot of dressing up stuff new, so I probably have unrealistic expectations!

This is weird. Just as I pressed "post message" on my last reply, DD1 came into the room and asked if we can buy some "African dressing up clothes". Apparently they have some at school, including a special hat for carrying things on their head ...

So there's a challenge for you!

sounds like an ujpturned basket to me...

BTW, I bought a few Chinese "silk" parasols to sell on EBAY. They are totally beautiful and the kids have so much fun with them.
My little girl creates little houses and tents for her toys with it and uses it to accessorise her pretty dresses.
