Anyone used a knitting frame for hats?

I am a fairly new knitter and would like to knit some hats. I've seen the round frames on a couple of site shows but have no idea if they're any good! Any tips and advice would be much appreciated 😊

Do you mean a round loom? If so, I use them. They're very quick and easy, but you need very chunky yarn, or double or even triple strands to get the right thickness. They make lovely, thick, warm hats.

I got mine off Amazon ages ago, I'm sure they still have them. They're very easy to use. The most basic ewrap stitch produces a finish somewhere between stocking stitch and rib, but there are many more stitch patterns using a combo of ewrap, knit and purl.

As I said, you need super chunky yarn, or double or even triple thickness or your work will be very "loose", all though sometimes that may be preferred. I use three strands of chunky (156m/100g) when making warm winter hats, as it makes for a very, thick, cosy knit.

We went on a woodland walk yesterday, DH, DDs 1 and 3, and myself, all wearing hats knitted on my loom. A very chilly day, but we all kept warm.
