I know you're out there! I think of you every time I visit my favourite house clearance shop and keep meaning to take pictures... so this time I did.

Here we have offering no. 1. Which the serial number seems to imply is rather old. It has a lovely domed wooden case. Just beautiful but I can't really justify buying it!

Ohh its beautiful. Mine is a 1912 99k with the bentwood case. I love it and it sews beautifully! I found it for £15!

I have a 27K handcrank. Named Cleo. She is beautiful. I have a new Janome too for the fancy stuff (buttonholes, zig zags) but for straight stitch it's the Singer all the way!

Yes, those 1920s onwards ones get a bit functional looking.

There is still something attractive about the sleek black lines though. I think the bit I dont like is the flat silver end where the needle is. It ruins the sleekness
