I need a new sewing machine

Hi I have posted about this dilema before. I have a 30 year old electric sewing machine that either needs replacing or servicing. I have seen this www.wightbay.com/newport/leisure/vintage-singer-sowing-machine-5403980/ And I am sorely tempted. If I need to do anything fancy I can borrow a machine from school. What do think?

So night last I bought a 1922 singer machine from e-bay for £21. The seller was very surprised I didn't actually want the machine, just the bobbins and feet etc. So the seller said they would relist it. There is another hand crank machine going on e-bay if anyone is interested.

Shock, pleased you have got feet!

Yes I have got feet coming, but not entirely sure which ones, it will be like Christmas Grin. In case anyone is thinking why did Elephant just not go and collect everything, it's because I live on an island and it would add £££ to the overall price.

elephant, when you said you'd bought a machine on eBay for a minute I thought you'd fallen down the rabbit hole that is vintage machines! Nice restraint on just having the bobbins and feet!

I'm about to list some vintage sewing machine bits on eBay, but my phone has decided it won't send pics in messages and so I'm trying to figure that out first!

I have an entire Singer 128K's worth of bobbins and parts as the machine timing is screwed, so I am going to dissassemble it and sell the parts on the Bay and whilst I'm at it, the Simanco parts for various machines, got over the years at car boots etc - we have often bought entire boxes of parts we already have, just to get one part.

It's going to be a long job though as I will have to look up all the parts numbers and figure out what they are!

Joffrey I did fall down that rabbit hole a long time ago, which how I managed to leave 2 vintage machines in a school. I have now got a much smaller house so don't have the luxury of the space. It was sewing machines and weighing scales. As I now live on an island the postage costs for these items are prohibitive and collection in person usually adds about £100 to the item in ferry costs. I will look out for your items. Smile

Brilliant! Well if there is an attachment you're looking for me, let me know - as I may have it. They're all in a drawer waiting for me to do a factory re-set on my phone (as I think that's the only way I'm going to get my phone to send images in messages again!)
