What material can I use?

Pair of oven gloves which don't have a bit for hanging them up.

I want a material in ribbon form to attach and hang them up, but as they're heavy gloves, I don't think decorative ribbon will be strong enough.

I've considered jute ribbon, but it's quite rough.

So what alternatives do I have?

How about heavy duty grosgrain ribbon?

Are they the oven gloves with a long rectangular strip between them?

In that case I'd make the ribbon go the whole way across twice (so like a flat ring around it) and extend it however many cm you need for your loop. Then sew it down all around the edges of the ribbon.
That way it will spread the weight and won't pucker just in the loop area. With so much ribbon you can use anything you like.

I wouldn't use cotton grosgrain as it has a tendency to unravel endlessly if you haven't sewn it down well. Polyester you could scorch it at the ends, but
that's not pretty.

Just clip a bulldog clip on them.

No, they are separate Lakeland gloves so quite heavy. Bulldog clip would work for me, but has to work for the whole family so a loop requires minimal effort iyswim?
