Chutney for Christmas presents - how to style/wrap?

I have made some spiced apple chutney to hand out at Christmas. I am not sure how to present it? Should I make labels to stick on the side. And should I have a little cloth circle on the top? Would you wrap it or put it in a gift bag?

I'd put a label on but why not wrap the whole thing in a piece of material and tie with a bit of ribbon with a little gift tag added

when I have given chutney I haven't wrapped it, just put a ribbon on the top and tied a label round the lid.

What you mean tied a label as in a gift tag? I have some brown parcel type labels which might work OK. How would I wrap the whole thing in material? I am liking the idea but unsure on the practicalities.

Thanks both.

A red or green piece of gingham cut round with pinkinshears put it on the lid and tie round with a piece of of gold or silver elastic, add a home made chrismas tag and matching label.

yes that is what I meant - sorry not clear - it was a kind of brown luggage label type thing tied round the lid.

Fantastic. Thanks for the help everyone. Actually I got the recipe off the BBC website, and it is really easy although DH complains about the smell.
