I have a couple of balls of Debbie bliss cashmerino dk in my stash. I was hoping to add in another colour as te ones I have are a bit wishy washy. But it's discontinued. And I can't bring myself to spend the £7 they seem to go for on eBay.
Can you suggest a good yarn sub that I can mix in with the cashmerino?

Otherwise it'll all end up on eBay IF I can find the ball bands. Confused

Sublime do a cashmerino dk, and so do Drops. I'm not sure about the prices, but iirc, Drops is usually a pretty good price.

Do you think I could mix and match the DB with drops/ sublime? Confused

I'm not sure, but I have more knowledgeable yarns friends, so I will ask them and get back to you.

Apparently these yarns have a different twist, so will appear more bouncy when you knit with them, but they will wash and wear the same.

I'm not sure if this is particularly helpful - sorry.

This website is really good : yarnsub.com/yarns/debbie_bliss/cashmerino_dk

^ gives lots of alternatives and how much of a match they are. Read about it in a magazine.

The Debbie Bliss is one of the original Wooly Hugs yarns so maybe the ones that are in use now are suitable.

I canny remember what the other originals were - Rowan Cashsoft was one I think but that is also discontinued. The other was a Sublime one I think.

I've mixed the drops with Wendy Merino dk in a blanket. The Drops is noticeably different in texture and grew quite a bit with everyday use.

You could also have a look at the different yarn comments on ravelry. (Sorry if you already have done this and it's not helpful!).
