I attend frist open day for DD and was told that she needs a star outfit for her part in school play. She is 3 years old, any suggestions. It needs to be simply, but amazing all at the same time!

I would just cut out two large stars from a carboard box or something. Cover them with sparkly, glittery paper and attach them over the shoulders with silver ribbon. Make DD wear white tights and top underneath.

She is 3. Am I alone in thinking it would be nice to see the costumes made by the children during lesson time, rather than making it the parents responsibility?

Thanks for the advice. I think we are going with the cardboard, silver paper number, but I may look in Asda and emblelish. I think it would be good if they made them at school, but they seem to be spending all the time rehursing their big numbers. I can't wait to see it!

dd was also a star when she was 3 for the nursery christmas play, i made a poncho out of felt (doesn't fray so no need to edge it, it was literally just a big diamond with a hole cut in the middle and felt star's stuck on it, really easy.

dd2 was 3 last year and also a star. I cut out two large stars from a cardboard box, covered them in silver wrapping paper and sewed them onto the bodice of a white fairy costume (already had). It worked a treat

My daughter was astar when she was three.

We all had to make same outfit and it was sooooo easy.

Pair of white tights, leggins or trousers.

Also a white long sleeve top.

All you have to do is sew silver tinsel down each arm and each leg.

How easy is that??????

Also got a sparkly headband with sparkly balls sticking out of the top.

If you need a long sleeve white top, they have them in tesco £1.25 in their value range.

She's a snowman this year so have just bought one of these tops!!

many thanks. We now have the cardboard for the star. I think we will spray it silver and add a bit of glitter.
