Sorry, no help. I did buy some and tried them for a while when DD was in nappies but I couldn't get on with them long term. I lived abroad at the time, there were lots of US washable nappy forums that had a section for washable pads, not sure if there is anything like that here in the UK.

The people who were stitching their own nappies had good supplier recommendations.

I think that I got rid of all mine, I will have a look and if I find one I will trace around it and pm you. Of course there are many different sizes though.

Actually, I have just found two - a monster Wink sized one and one that looks quite normal. The label says Gladrags, organic - not sure if they still exist.

If you pm me I will send you some photos - doubt that many would want to see them on here!

TongueBiter · 20/04/2015 16:17

I'm on a FB crafts group - there's a woman on there who makes them. Let me go searching ....

lavendersun · 20/04/2015 16:18

This one
gladrags.com/product/376/Organic-Day-Pad.html

and this one
gladrags.com/product/381/Organic-Night-Pads.html

Let me know if you want me to trace round either one or both, or just measure length and widest/narrowest bits.

You can find bamboo towelling on e-bay. Mine are just overlocked around the edges.

I've recently bought some microfibre (supersoft) flannels from 99p shop. Folded in three they make a simple pad

hugoagogo · 24/04/2015 17:36

I made my own, I will try and find the pattern, it was very simple all top stitches no overlocking. And can be adapted to different sizes and absorbancies.

I bought some flannelette from eBay for the top layer in small amounts because I didn't want them all the same. I used an old towel for the absorbant layer and jeans or old school polo shirts for a stiffer bottom layer.
It's up to you how fancy/discrete you want them to look.
You can make them as circles so they don't look so obvious.
If you are really worried about leaks you can add a layer of shower curtain or packamac!
It's v satisfying!

I use a thin fleece blanket material. They are more like panty liners though, I just use a single layer of the material with a press-stud and blanket stitching around the outside.

Argh cannot find the pattern anywhere- it was years ago.
Basically you need two pieces the shape of a pad without wings + seam allowance.
sew them together right sides together and leave a gap to turn them inside out. Turn it the right way and sew up the gap.
Then cut out two pieces the shape of a winged pad + seam allowance and a piece of thicker material in the shape of a non winged pad. Sandwich these together with the thicker material on the bottom, sew round and leave a gap. Turn the right way out and sew up the gap.
Place the unwinged piece on top of the winged piece and topstitch then together a cm in from the non winged bit. Sew snaps on the wings. And there you have it.. They are pretty absorbant, you can obviously make them with less layers or more, you can make panty
liners or night time towels to suit.
If you want bamboo I think wee notions do it, but I like flannelette.
God what an essay!
