Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts at ExCel

I've just been offered a ticket to the Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show Fashion & Embroidery show at ExCel tomorrow, but am wondering if it's worth it.

Has anyone been today, and if so, did you enjoy it? Were the exhibitors good at both shows? Were there lots of ideas etc?

Thanks

I usually go to the one at the NEC. I love it! I go twice a year. The christmas show is my favourite. Get there early though as by 11am it is jam packed! Interesting if you are not good with crowds!! The exihibitors are always friendly and show you how do stuff. I took my daughter this time, and she had a ball!

I went to ExCel once when I was visiting my mum and it is pretty much the same, just a bit bigger.

I would take something to eat and drink, as the food is ridiculously pricey. Also be prepared not being able to sit down much. I usually camp out on the floor or find a step to sit on to eat!

Personally I would give it a go. Hope you have fun :)

Thanks dillie. My problem is my mobility as my left leg doesn't work very well and I get very tired (and don't like crowds!). Getting to ExCel seems a nightmare from us and so I'd probably have to drive (from Oxfordshire).

I'm still in two minds. I've never been to one of these as a visitor (I exhibited at Knitting and Stitching donkey's years ago) and so don't really know what to expect.

However, a friend and I are thinking of setting ourselves up with a sewing coaching enterprise and I'm wondering whether it would be useful to go.

I would give it a shot. I did take the train though. Is that an option for you? Driving into London fills me with terror!! The station is fairly close if I remember rightly. No more than a 10 min walk, and you just follow everybody else!!

Not sure how the trains run on Sunday. Last week was a pain as there was signalling problems at Milton Keynes, so all trains were delayed by 30 mins.

Definitely get there for when the doors open though. I vaguely remember there being a load of steps on different levels, but I am sure they will have lifts.

Going early will give you a taste, and you can always leave at any time when you have had enough
