Our PTA runs Mothers Day craft sessions after school, separate sessions for KS1 and KS2. It's £5 child, and they need to make something that a) they can make with minimal instruction in an hour or so (one adult helper per 6 kids), b) parents are happy that it's decent value and they get something nice for the money, and ideally c) the PTA makes a little bit of cash too.
In the past we've done tie-dye silk scarves, decorated notebooks (I'm thinking of reprising this for KS1 as it was a few years ago, I'm thinking lots of PVA, some deco patch paper, seed beads etc), and last year was 'pamper jars' of a large glass jar decorated with lace, with 3 handmade chocolates, a lip balm and body scrubber thing.
I'm thinking maybe notebooks for KS1, I'd quite like one as a present which seems a good benchmark?!
Doesn't matter if they need to dry or have finishing touches done afterwards by an adult as it's almost better to give them back to the kids in sealed paper bags the Friday before Mother's Day.
Any ideas on KS2 in particular? And if we did notebooks do you think that's enough for a fiver or should we do something else too? Hmm could add a ribbon with a little wooden heart as a place marker?
