religious christmas stamps? advice needed for card making novice

Hello, I'm looking into making my Christmas cards this year and want to find some stamps that aren't all to do with father Christmas and snowmen etc, more to do with the religious meaning of the season. I've had a look at carftingdirect and lakeland but their stamps are all secular. Does anyone know where I might find some religious ones?

Let us know if you find a suitable one!

I will, there are a few I really like there but will consult his nibs before making a purchase. Can you tell me what kind of ink pads are the best and where is best to get them from? I reckon I'll be making about 150 cards.

Depends. Do you want to heat emboss or just stamp? If heat emboss, you need pogment pads. If just stamp, you need dye pads, but you can get permanent (so you can paint over them) or just 'normal' ink! It is a minefield For permanent, I like Stazon pads.

Thanks for that Dior - what a lovely site!

Have found a lovely nativity stamp for the cards and will set about making the cards (probably very badly) before long.

Could you explain what embossing involves?

If you're looking at religious cards, a very simple and incredibly effective technique I use is to triple emboss a cross into silver. Ever so easy: ink up a square of card with pigment ink, powder, heat (until really hot), add more powder, heat and repeat. Whren it's got three or four layers of powder, heat so hot that it becomes molten- then really quickly push in a normal stamp (can be any design but I find simple ones work best). Leave thirty seconds then just remove- stamp won't be harmed at all. To bring out the image if needed, rub a bit of ink onto your finger and just gently buff the iamge with it.

You can also use the same technique in white powder with snowmen and then buff with a bit of silver powder for a good effect. Another use of this technique f you have anything like wooden santa or snowmen embellishments- ink the square and do three layers of black sparkle. Allow to dry then add embellishment- makes a fabulous night sky effect which looks almost like porcelain.
