So far so good on this pattern until I got to the ears - they keep coming out looking like an elf hat instead of the lovely curved cat ear shape in the picture.

Whilst i'm no super expert, I'm not a beginner either & I just can't see where I'm going wrong!!

I'm hoping someone on here might've done the pattern and know where things might be going tits up for me!

just finished round 20 of bunny's head (8 stitches) and it looks lovely.

but, and I'm probably being a bit thick, I cannot find any instructions on how to finish close it after stuffing.
my instinct is to just thread through all stitches and pull tight, (knot and cut thread how I'd do it when finish off hand quilting theeads)

is that good? or shall I somehow add extra stitches until only 4 or 2 left to crochet together?

btw i used Wendy Supreme DK cotton with a 3mm hook - really tight tension.
too much actually, not only head is already keeping it's shape, I broke the tip off of my bamboo hook and had to switch to metal one!Shock Grin

how are ears going on ?

Kids have chosen their favourites so I have orders of 1 red chimp, 2 rainbow rhinos & 1 blue lion.
DS3 hasn't decided yet.
BabyZing will have a giraffe, DD wants a tiger (colours undecided for both)

Bunny is mine, the yarn is beige and "dotted" with coral, baby pink and mocha - so beautiful.
this yarn will make up head and legs, but I will use a coral yarn for body.

I will attempt to make the ears 2 toned ("outside" of ears with dotty yarn, "inside" with coral").
I think I will call her Peach. Smile

Zing your colours sound lovely.
For finishing I usual work the decrease rounds until I'm left with around six stitches and then I thread the yarn through each stitch and draw all the stitches together then tie off and bury the end of the yarn inside the head.
Hope that makes sense.

yeah, that's what I meant. and thank you! Smile

Bunny head pattern states last row as 8 stitches (which is what I have) - just wondered if that's not too many to just close up with a yarn.

not stuffed it yet so will decide later.

DS3 wants a red squirrel now.
