Foundation chain is tight - do I need to start over?

Hi, I'm fairly new to crochet and just starting my second cushion cover. I tried the foundation double crochet to avoid that horrible first row, and yes it was easier but now I'm six rows in it's become apparent that it was too tight as my work is all curved :( I know how to avoid it next time (bigger hook for chain?) but can I just carry on with this piece and hope that when I machine it to the backing piece (an old jumper) I can hide the fact that it's curved at the beginning? Will the whole piece be curved? Or will it start to straighten out after a few more rows?

Thanks in advance!

If you're not happy & only 6 rows in, I'd start again.

I sometimes do the foundation row with a larger hook (1/2 or 1 size bigger) to avoid this

Can you post a picture? Knitted fabrics sometimes just need blocking at the end as the edges curl up.

Thanks for the replies - I decided to carry on as I hate undoing and actually it's not too bad now. If I stretch it gently it stays straight so I think blocking will do the trick!

Try a quick steam with a iron. It might do the trick. If it is just a cushion cover I wouldn't worry too much.
