Crochet workshops - public liability?

I want to have a go at offering crochet workshops - but what about public liability insurance? I have seen this mentioned several times on here and whilst I probably wouldn't bother when selling stuff on Etsy, this is a bit of a different kettle of fish.
If anyone has any advice or can recommend a company I would be ever so grateful please. I have done a bit of a search but knitting/crochet lessons don't seem to appear.
I would really like to be advertising soon as my first project is for crocheting a snowflake - don't want to miss the Christmas boat!

I'm presuming you are planning on doing this from home ?? If so, then yes PLI is advised, but it might be worth chatting to your home insurer - you might be able to get an add on, that will cover you for this sort of small class

if you are looking at running your classes from a venue/community hall - then check what PL insurance the venue itself already has, you may find that you are covered

Sorry I can't recommend a particular insurer, the one I have used in the past was very specific to what I needed & covered me for events, not classes

Yes, from home. No idea what the uptake might be so starting small! Many thanks. I have contacted my insurer so will have to wait and see.

I needed Public Indemnity insurance a couple of years ago. I didn't think of asking my house insurer, which might have been cheaper, but did a web search and found a policy which did both PI and PL. I think it was through Direct Line. There are lots of policies available and like other insurance the price varies a lot, so a bit of research may well be worth it.

Thank you. I have had a quote for £70. I think that is good, but I need to know that I am definitely doing it before I go ahead.
