Just wondering if anyone has made this and if so what the dimensions are? I did have a look but couldn't see mention of the finished size.
Am not sure if it will fit on a king size bed?

Thanks!

Oh and as for hooks, I recently switched to a softgrip one from Hobbycraft and it is brilliant, I can crochet all evening without getting cramp, my previous limit was about an hour.

That is a problem with all-in-one blankets. You could put it aside until winter and the blanket keeps you warm as you crochet! mind you, it's not exactly warm right now!

I think I have two all-in-one blankets sitting in my WIP pile. I might relocate one of them permanently to the car so I always have something there whilst waiting for assorted children at assorted activities. With one of them, I set myself the task of one coloured stripe (5 rows) each day which worked for a while and meant I could do other stuff too it fell by the wayside when urgent woolly hug projects came along though and hasn't been picked up again.

I agree with the recommendation for the soft-grip hooks. The Knitpro ones are great as I found the steel ones quite hard on my wrists.
As for yarn quantity, I have had to order extra due to the sheer epicness of this blanket! I think I'll end up using around a ball and a half each of 20 or so colours (it's for my 10 yo son, so blues/greens/greys/caramels/creams is my colour scheme, all in Stylecraft Special DK). Used to be a total yarn snob but have been hugely surprised by the Stylecraft; it's so easy to work with, great value for money and I think it'll wear like iron Smile

I've switched to using the Stylecraft DK for just about everything, lovely feel, easy to work with, inexpensive and a fantastic colour range.

Knit Pro also do coloured handles now these are the very best soft touch handles I have found. I have body wide bursitis that gives me tennis elbow and I can crochet for hours with these hooks.

Did peeps use a 5mm or 6mm hook for the blanket? Away to order one with a soft grip in preparation for this long winter project!

I'm using 4mm.

Ok, have started a test piece and am struggling a bit with the pattern! Think I will need a few goes. Shame there isn't a photo tutorial with the pattern
