Ceramic painting children - what paint?

I am doing an activity where kids are going to paint ceramic tealights and photo frames, I'll then stick them in the oven for the paint to seal. What paint should I use? Will any acrylic do?

I'm pretty sure you don't have to seal arylics in the oven.

If you want the paint to be shiny you could varnish it by painting watered down PVA over the top once the acrylic is dry.

There are pens you can get which you do seal in the oven - probably a bit more expensive and difficult to get hold of and you can't get the colour variation you can achieve with acrylics.
Have fun

I'd just use acrylics for tea lights and photo frames-they won't need frequent washing or come into contact with food like plates and cups. Also, the ceramic paint I looked at came in very small pots and I like children to be able to be generous with paint if they like.

Thank you both. I would definitely like to achieve the shiny effect the shinier the better, but it needs to be very quick dry. It's a 2 hr session, so say the kids spend 45 mins painting, say at least 20 mins for the paint to be dry, I'll need to varnish them and the kids will need to take their fully dry items home. Is this feasible? Is there some sort of quick dry high gloss spray I could use?

The tea lights can be shiny easily of they paint the inside if glass tea light containers. The glass gives the shine then.
