Do you ever finish something and wish someone else knew how clever it was?

..that sounds awful, but hopefully someone out there will know what I mean.

I have just finished a bag for DD(7) - a little messenger bag based on this which she saw in a shop and was lusting after. I made it for the pure challenge, TBH (I could have just said no and pointed to the large pile of bags she already has), and to get myself over my zip phobia, but it's come out really well and no-one but me is going to appreciate how tricky it was Sad. DS made "there there clever Mummy" noises because he knows what's good for him but that's about it.

I am considering making letting DD take it to holiday club tomorrow because the teacher in charge is someone who might just appreciate it Blush

I didn't have the nerve to make her take it to holiday club in the end, so I took the easy way out and took her round to my parents with it - DM is always an appreciative audience but the only problem is that now she wants one to (particularly in the camper van print).

Bags are definitely a better appreciation return than quilts - partly because they are far far less effort in the first place Grin. I make bags for the birthday child of any party my DC go to - mostly pretty quick, but occasionally I get carried away. I did a lovely appliqué/quilted teddy bears picnic duffle bag, which, of course, got no more appreciation than a "standard" bag because no one else had any idea that it had taken me 10 times as long Wink

Stealth. The bag. Envy

Grin It's beautiful, and I totally appreciate the neatness of the zips (I'm an impatient crafter)

I recently knitted tiny 3" high Easter rabbits for DC (See impatient. Nice and small Easter Grin). Let them pick the colour wool and did it when they went to bed - they were upset that they couldn't watch. DS1 loves and cherishes his and when not played with he tidies it away in a safe place (normally his toys get ditched everywhere). DS2 lost his rabbit within 5 minutes. Easter Hmm When asked where it was he shrugged. Easter Hmm DS1 looked for it and found it 3 days later. Easter Grin

Hmm For the abandoned rabbit - did DS1 adopt him?

I have just finished Easter bags / storage tubs for the DC - will be their Easter pressies from me (some damned rabbit takes all the credit for egg trails and the rest). Easter bunnies for DD and Easter Polar Bears for DS because they are a thing too, right? he has been wanting something made out of that particular fabric for a while.

No he just found him Easter Smile

I've made some for niece and nephew and I hope they like/appreciate the bloody effort or it'll be shop bought goods for the rest of forever! Easter Grin

The Easter bags/storage tubs sound fun (pics too? )

Easter bunny - pffft like I was gonna let him take all the credit!

DC are lucky to have crafter parents like us - I was never spoilt like this as a child! Easter Grin

I can't add pictures from my tablet, so you will have to wait Smile

I am sure rabbits will be appreciated. I have had a pattern for little felt chicks sitting around for ages and haven't got around to doing anything with it Sad. My nieces would have loved those (and are due storage tubs of their own too).

Pesky work keeps getting in the way,

I get really irritated by work when I'm on a roll with a quilt, it's such a pain! But it's what pays for all the raw materials, so a necessary evil.

I'm currently making quilts for my nieces as my SIL mentioned that I'd made them for my nephews but not the girls, that's because the girls came first when my DC were more of a time suck! But guilt has inspired me so I'm getting on with them. Smile
