As the title says, does anyone have instructions to make mini granny squares (UK terminology) like the ones in this blanket? TIA

Looks like the petals are a puff stitch

Hi thanks. Perhaps I should clarify, this is for a novice (me) so I'll need step by step instructions, thanks.

They're not exactly the same but the Summer Garden granny square from the Attic24 blog come out at about 3" square. The link I posted has step by step instructions.

When I made the throw I did the first two rounds of every square and then crocheted the last round using the join-as-you-go method (also on the Attic24 blog) to make the last round and join the squares in one go. Perfect for a lazy trout like me who hates sewing up. Grin

I've tried that join as you go technique from Attic24 and found it very difficult to get the seams flat and straight, they ended up really lumpy. Pity, as I had high hopes of it.

That picture you linked to looks gorgeous OP, good luck!

Sorry op!

Have four this crochetpatterns09.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/all-puff-stitch-granny-square.html but uses us terms.

It does include a video

Who knows - I always crochet through the back loop only when joining - it gives you a ridge, but the seams sit flat.

I love little grannys - so cute and perfect for those ten minutes when you have nothing better to do.

Thank you so much everyone. I am not sure what I'll do with the squares, for now I just want to crochet them and keep them in a box Grin. I just fancy the idea of creating lots of crazy colour permutations.

They are handy for carryingout and about, I'm doing an enormous ripple blanket and it's only half done but it is far too big to take places and work on so progress has slowed right down.

I'll try that next time Whatdoes. I tried to follow the Attic24 instructions to the letter before but it was a while ago, can't remember exactly what I did. I think my problem is with small grannies they don't always come out very square for me, the ones that have clusters from the start rather than the circles of trebles are better in that respect.

This is my version of the summer garden throw but I used Stylecraft special. I know what you mean about the seams puckering with join-as-you-go, but they seemed to sort themselves out when there were squares each side and a border round.
