sizing up a pattern from a book

I'm making a knitting bag and the pattern is a pattern in a book which is half sized.

How do I size it up or do I make a bag half the size I want Grin

So you want it twice as big or am I being thick?

Sneezecakesmum · 10/03/2014 20:44

the book says to size it up as it is 50% smaller on the page. I need a magic wand to double its size

'enlarge on a photocopier' I only have a standard A4 home printer

Yes I was being thick - I thought you meant it was a knitting pattern.

Grin think I'll just use graph paper!

Can you copy it to a3 at your library?

Nocomet · 11/03/2014 21:46

Photocopy it, cut it in half. Copy each half at 200%, tape them together.

(Clearly more bits if it's bigger, than a3 when enlarged)

Too lazy to go to a library and stand around looking dumb at their photocopier Grin

I think the copying at 200% sounds about right and I would have done that if my printer copier hadn't been playing up and the online manual has disappeared into the ether! .....problem to sort on another day!

In the end I printed out 1/2" graph paper. Photocopied it onto there. Printed out some 1" graphpaper and sized it up square by square. A bit of a faff but its worked.
