DD loves plastic hair bands - the ones you put over your head to hold hair back out of your face - and we would like to make some with flowers, stars, etc. What kind of glue would you use? So hard to get things to attach.

Super glue.

A glue called E6000, eBay or Amazon do it cheaply.

Superglue can be quite brittle, so may not last very long. I'd use a two part epoxy resin like Araldite - you mix two pastes together and apply. Much stronger, so will take some wear and tear.

Sorry, also bear in mind how absorbent cloth flowers etc may be - test the glue on one first. Glueing two plastics/non-absorbent pieces will be better Smile

You need a glue with some volume as the contact points otherwise will be too small for superglue to work. Use a contact adhesive or epoxy resin, both have bulk.

Thank you. Those plastic head bands take a lot of wear and tear, as they have to bend and flex every time they get put on and off (every two and a half minutes).

I'd try a hot glue gun.

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 22/12/2013 12:01

I have one of those .. could try that. Forgot I had it!

Or you could make a hole with darning needle or similar and tie on decoration/s...
