Toy crinkle paper???

MummyBeth · 28/08/2013 22:35

Hi,

I am making a baby activity mat and would like to buy some of the crinkly paper often found in baby books / toys etc.

I have heard of using wrapping cellophane but not sure how well that would machine wash?

Any ideas?

Thanks

you need the cellophane you use in flower wrapping.

if you're worried about washing, you could use a strong fabric glue round the edges, but it should sew in okay (very long stitch)

Some kind of strong cellophane should work, bet you have some lying around that you don't realise - like how about those plastic bags that cards get packaged in. Or even a crisp packet - that would be crinkly!

I wouldn't do a large area though, I think it would be more likely to tear or bunch up otherwise.

I used washed crisp packet. A sharing bag is slightly thicker Smile

The big bags that contain a multipack of crisps would probably work. And for the terminally lazy, like myself, require no washing.

Space blankets are really crinkly.

Our Poundland sells those silver emergency blankets.

I'd use well washed crisp packet.
