White spirit?

WD40 should do it - from a hardware store or B&Q

You can buy stuff for this from Lakeland.

However, I usually get sticky things off (admittedly before putting in the machine so don't know if that will have had a negative affect) by putting them in very hot very soapy water for a few minutes, then usually just rub it away with a sponge after.

Baby oil and a plastic scraper!

Lighter fuel is the best stuff for getting sticky residue from labels etc off anything - DH is a record collector & that's what they use to remove labels from sleeves, vinyl etc without leaving damage

timidviper · 16/08/2013 21:54

I always use WD40 to remove anything sticky

Sticky stuff remover from Lakeland - magic!

Try using antibacterial hand gel, this is very effective at removing sticky stuff from glass & much cheaper!

Tea tree oil. Then no need to scrape.

Furniture polish. Spray on a load of pledge/mr sheen etc and then rub off with a cloth.

It works I promise.
