Crochet help needed please.

I started to crochet a hoody for dd. the pattern goes up to age 10 and dd is 9 so I thought I would do the biggest size. It turns out it must be for the worlds tiniest 10yos in the world. I have added length to the front and back but what is the best way to elongate the sleeves?

In the original pattern there is an increase row every 5 rows but if I carry on like that it looks far too wide and a bit rediculous.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would work more rows in between increases. Six or seven rows between increases should elongate it enough. It does, unfortunately, mean you have to start the sleeves over again.

I would increase as per the pattern and then work them straight until they are the right lenght, like you would do with a knitting pattern.

Then you still have the right number of stitches for sewing in to the main body of the piece.

Thank you both. It makes sense both ways but I think I'm going to try Daisy's method because of the joining issue.

I have already undone the sleeves but I think by the time I've finished it won't fit anyway. It's taking forever as I keep doing other stuff.

At least she chose androgynous colours. If I really do take too long, ds2 can wear it.
