A laminator question

If I laminate some sewing pattern pieces, can I cut them out right on the edge of the pattern or do I need to leave a border?

I would say that you need to go right up to the edge of the pattern so that you can cut your fabric accurately.

But if you do this then your lamination will fall apart as it needs an edge of plastic on plastic to seal it.

This may be why laminated patterns are not widely seen!

I'd laminate but make the border of plastic around the pattern piece the same width as the seam allowance stated on the pattern. Then you can trace and cut along the tracing line.

Yes, that's what I thought.

These are just simple bits of paper though, not for clothing, so the border won't make an difference if it is the same on all the pieces.

I couldn't decide if the plastic pouch stuck to the paper or not.

It doesn't, not really.
