metal

I hope you can all help me. I'm searching for a metal embellishment to put on a 'get well soon' card, so that I can add to my extensive range (of one!)
I'm thinking maybe flowers, grapes, stethoscope(!) but am not having any luck finding anything.
Does anyone have any ideas, any websites I could look at ( if I find the right thing then I would be looking at a large order, so trade-type sites would not be a problem)
TIA

Can I just say that when I previewed this, it did say "metal-type embellishments" in the subject title. I have no idea where the rest of the title went!

what sort of thing do you want? a charm, plaque, or ?????

I make my own metal look plaques by triple embossing into deep layers of metallic powder (works better than you'd think) but if you give us a bit more detail we'lls ee what we can do

Crikey, peachyclair, that was quick!
To give you an idea,\link{http://www.chiggs.co.uk\this} is the card I currently make. I do know that this in no way compares to the proper arts and crafts cards that you girls make, but I know that you all know your way around all the relevant arty websites (especially you, peachy - I'm a regular lurker!)
Well, the idea is a get well soon card with the dial on to note the time of last medication, but I'm looking for a suitable embellishment for the front. Any ideas?

Crafty Bitz do a range of metal embellishments
Try \link{http://www.kookykards.com/craft-bits_page_1.htm\this}
You can buy them in most craft shops

Also there's loads of sellers on ebay that sell flat metal charms.

Thanks, carolinett. I hadn't come across the Kooky Kards site in my search, they have some nice stuff.
I'm rubbish with ebay, never seem to find what I'm looking for, and then I get distracted looking at everything, but I will have to give it another go. (It would help if I knew what I wanted!)

Those cards you made were lovely, bu the way.

bettythebuilder · 27/04/2006 19:54

Thanks peachy, very kind of you to say so. They're nothing like the proper handmade cards you all make, altho I think the 'sorry you're ill' type card may have more of a handmade look, as I'd like to mount a flower or flowers on a piece of card or paper.I'm still undecided!

what's a proper handmade card when it's at home? Stamped? peel off? Stickers?

Some people would say only drawn or original (eg quilled)

I'm not one of them, but don't do yourself down- really was nice
