I'm on the rota for parent and toddler craft this week.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
I've just googled one idea. It's a hedgehog picture. Draw the outline of it and let the children paint the spikes with handprints. Seems a bit of an autumnal craft though.
Something for spring would be good.

get big pieces of paper, like the roll from Ikea or Butchers' paper, lie the kids down on it, draw round them, do the basic details and let them do the rest, then hold them up and they all get pretty excited about it

Cut round their hands in coloured paper then curl arround a straw, sellotape and thyen bend the fingers back like petals (looks like a lily?)

Use 6-8 coloured hand prints round a picture of themselves to make a sunny faced flower

you can make fairies using wooden clothes pegs, (the ones without the springs), glue on paper wings and draw faces on the round bit at the top of the peg.

similar to the hedgehog, but do a peacock or cockrell and the handprints can be the tail feathers.

Thanks everyone. I have found a really lovely spring flowers craft on one of these sites. All you need is paper and a straw. Draw around child's hand, cut out, curl fingers around a pencil, fold into a cone and attach to a straw. Cut out green leaves and add on. Do a few handprints to make a pretty bouquet. Sounds lovely and only a small bit of preparation on my part too. Smile

cut out a flower shape. cut out little squares of coloured tissue paper. the kids can scrunch them up and glue them on the flower to make a pretty flower! if you punch a hole in it somewher and thread some string or ribboon through they can hang it up.
