Card/paper trimmer cutter thing

I need a trimmer primarily for cutting up thinish card for school resources. But I want it at home, so I don't want an enormous thing. On the other hand I don't want something that will immediately fail when faced with two bits of paper, or go blunt in 2 days. I know lots of you will be cutting card for craft things, what do you suggest? I really don't want to make a major investment if possible. Many thanks.

I bought the small version of this X-cut Guillotine and regretted not getting this, full size one. The small one cuts A4 across-wise but not length-wise.

I got a very inexpensive one from Staples. It does lengthwise A4 but is only about 6 inches deep, so easy to store. www.staples.co.uk/pens-tape-desk-supplies/paper-trimmers/a4-precision-trimmer

... should add ... I'm a primary teacher & Brownie Leader - it copes really well with up to 4 sheets of normal paper at a time and all of the normal weights of school card. :-)

I would go for one that will do a4 lengthwise but also has a self sharpening guillotine blade - quick and efficient no new blades to buy all the time and copes will with a few sheets in one go - I have had up to 8 in mine and whilst its not on my desk whilst crafting I use it for the big chop ups for card banks and such

That would be thinnish of course...
Thanks for the thoughts. EcoLady I see that Staples one (good price) has somewhat mixed reviews. Looks nice and compact though.
