Is it possible to get a scorch out of a piece of muslin??

It's the backing for my next patchwork quilt so it wasn't bloody cheap. Sad

Can't vouch for either of these, but my mum reckons they both work.

Dip a different piece of cloth into some hydrogen peroxide, diluted half and half with water. Lay the cloth over the scorch mark, then press with a hot iron (not steam). Repeat until the scorch mark disappears. If it doesn't work after three or four applications, increase the strength of the solution. Then wash it.

Or, gently rub scorch mark under cold running water then soak in a solution made up from 1 teaspoon of borax to a pint of warm water, then wash as normal.

Ah, and now the song will never be out of your head ... Wink

Can't think what might have gone wrong with the chick peas. I've done several lots now, and they're fine ... my barley did bugger all though. I don't usually bother putting them in the sunlight - maybe that's the trick.
