Argh, this is so frustrating (patterns needed)

I have 1 skein of tweedy 4 ply- slightly fuzzy yarn. It's 200m. The fingerless gloves pattern I'd planned doesn't work as the pattern loses itself in the wool's texture, there's not enough to do socks.

Any ideas of what I can do with it? I can't get more as it's hand dyed.

Could you do a plain fingerless gloves instead then? Let the wool's texture be the feature if you are worried about the sound of them being plain.

You can find all sorts of free patterns on Ravelry.com and you can even search by the amount or length of yarn you have and its weight.

That would have been far more sensible than ripping it all out in a fit of pique, wouldn't it?

Oh dear. Smile

How far had you got?

Sort of thing I would do!

But on the other hand, if you keep the same number of stitches but miss out the pattern, the gloves might not fit because a pattern will alter the size of the gloves. For example if you had a cable pattern and didn't do the cable, I would imagine that without all the cross overs for the cable stitches you would get a much bigger glove. You might still have had to rip it back and start again with another pattern so nothing lost really. Smile

No, just doing it plain will still fit as the pattern was a basic rib with fancy bits. Except now I've started again the way the wool's dyed means that there are spirals up the length of dark and light colours...
