A friend of mine has beenng a sort out and has given me box of blank playing cards...Grin

Never made an ATC before..what are the rules about size. I seem to remember the size being different from a standard playing card.

If so, do you stick to this? What do you do with them afterwards....does anyone actually sell or swap them?

Oooo - no he owes your DS a letter.
I tried a couple of times but couldn't grab his attention for long enough.

I have just reminded my DS & he says (suprisingly!) that he wants to sit & write one now.

He asks your DS what colour would he like his card ? Grin

For some reason, 5" by 3" is in my mind...not sure if that is right though.

I thought I had read somewhere that the were the size of a poker card rather than a standard playing card...but how big a poker card!!?Grin

Can't waste all these cards though-must be over 500 in the box.!LOL

Are poker cards different to standard cards then?

Dingle · 27/03/2006 19:19

LOL...I don't know, and I can't remember where I read it. Might have even imagined it or dreamt it... I often craft in my sleep!Wink

have just googled and found this but it still doesn't answer my initial question about ATCs!!

"Poker Size vs. Bridge Size Playing Cards
Playing cards are 3.5" in height. Poker (Wide) size cards are 2.5" (62mm) wide and Bridge size cards are 2.25" (57mm) wide. Most casinos and poker rooms use bridge size (yes, bridge) cards because they are easier to handle and shuffle than the larger poker size cards. People with small hands definitely prefer the smaller size of the bridge size cards but many old-timers find that they feel kinda 'light-weight' after playing with the wide size cards."

There you go, learn something new everyday!Grin

pmsl!

Have you googled the subject? There is bound to be a web-site somewhere dedicated to ATCs. These are another craft that I might get around to trying...along with scrap-booking.

Dior · 27/03/2006 19:23

x-posted!

Dingle · 27/03/2006 19:26

So there is 1/4 inch difference in the width..bah...If you are supposed to use the wider cards...my ATCs will just have to be slimline!Wink

I found a forum, and it said that ATCs need to be 3.5" x 2.5"...does this help?

Dingle · 27/03/2006 19:32

Thanks Dior...I have a box of 3.5 x 2.25.Like I said...skinny cards!

Poo! I think that the size (as in most things!) is really important...
