Cutting the 'newer' dies in a sizzix e.g. thin cuts

I have read that it is possible to cut the Ellison 'thin cut' dies in a normal sizzix- anyone tried this?

Also, I was flicking through a magazine which seemed to suggest you could do the extended die cuts in the sidekick- do you reckon this is possible too?

Just tried it for you. Sizzix with converter.
Sorry SadIt didn't even cut paper and I put a brand new board on the sizzix to try it

HANG ON I MIGHT BE WRONG just tried it in the end of the sizzix and it worked let me do a few more cuts

Dingle · 23/03/2006 10:49

I have a few thin cuts that I have cut quite easily using my sixxix/convertor & adapter but now I do prefer to use then in my likkle bargain sidekick...I've had no problems...so far!Grin

Thin cuts are the same style/size as a sizzlet die.

Yeh it's me
Sorry Sorry Sorry
prehaps it was too early for my sizzix,
it has cut upto pealised card it did'nt do the mirror card but the one I have is quite thick

You can't fit the ellison large dies in the sizzix they are larger than the sizzix red dies

I cut thin cuts with my sizzix...no probs....although I do find they need a few good sessions of use to bed in IYKWIM???

champs · 23/03/2006 14:33

yep, works in mine too:)

Whizzz · 23/03/2006 17:44

Someone just remind me - what is the difference between what you can cut on the Sizix with the Converter v the Adapter ??

champs · 24/03/2006 00:21

hi whizzz!! you use the convertor and the adapter to cut other manufactors dies:)

the convertor on it's own cuts sizzlets, thincuts and emboss folders.

Whizzz · 24/03/2006 16:43

Thanks Champs - you've probably told me that before. I have an converter for the sizzlits but couldn't work out just what the adapter would do (if I had one)

But if I had an adpater...I would then be tempted to buy more dies Shock........ I think I need to sell more cards to justify more expenditure Grin

Whizzz · 24/03/2006 20:13
